Niche SEO is the set of activities we do to rank for a keyword (or keywords) in a certain niche. These activities differ from one niche to another based on how that niche operates.

For example, in cryptocurrency, there exists a very high number of users with a low revenue per user. Here, the most common form of SEO is Informational SEO. Similarly, for B2B niches like corporate banking, there is a very widespread audience but the average revenue per user is high. Here, commercial keywords and SEO play a central role.

Niche vs Sub-Niche

A niche is a separate industry or sector that solves a specific set of demands in the market. For example, software, banking, finance, manufacturing, e-commerce, and many others. All these are mutually independent of each other and pose no competition threat to each other.

A sub-niche is a smaller categorization within a niche that specializes in a certain set of activities. These could be related to administration, operations, or marketing within that activity.

For example in the finance niche, sub-niches could be like:

  • Retail Banking
  • Corporate Banking
  • Investment Banking
  • Venture Capital
  • Family Offices

There are also micro-niches which are even smaller categorizations and operate within broader niches and sub-niches. These are hyperspecific and solve only one or two business problems. For example, in the banking niche, a micro niche would be:

  • Cross-border payments
  • Blockchain technology
  • Secure Communication channels
